MAX'S FIRST DAY OF 3RD GRADE!

Yeah! Max is all better now, and was able to have his first day of school :)
He was SO excited (and nervous) for his big day! He wanted to walk Luke to his class first; then we rounded the corner to the "upper class hallway". As we were walking, he took a deep breath and grabbed my hand (they were ice cold and sweaty!). We saw Room 22, and he said, "OK, I'm ready" - I immediately started crying....
Right when we walked in, everyone stopped and started shouting his name and waving - it was quite the welcome! Mrs. Killingsworth was so sweet to him, and told him how happy she was that he was finally here!
At the end of the day, Max told me how much fun he had, and that he really liked Mrs. Killingsworth.
He said, "Mom, when she says something, she REALLY MEANS it."
I think I'm going to like Mrs. Killingsworth :)

Breakfast time!
This "getting ready for school" business is old hat to Luke now!
He's ready! What will he fill that back pack with????
Off to school we go!
Max was "embarassed" that I took this picture - I told him to "humor me" :)

CALISSA JOLIE RASMUSSEN

Congratulations to the Rasmussen Family!!!!
Here is the first family pic of the Rasmussens! Calissa is doing great, and is home now with all her sisters! Lynnette said the girls can't get enough of her, and just love her to pieces!
She is a BEAUTIFUL baby!
"Calissa" means "Beautiful One" in Greek, and "Jolie" means "Beautiful" in French :)
Here's Adam and all his girls.....

"This Is No Fair At All!"

Those were Max's words when he came into our bed this morning.....I felt his hot little body, and said he had to stay home ONE MORE DAY :(
We decided to get him one of his favorite toys.....LEGOS (better yet, Sponge Bob Legos!) for him to work on while he was at home.

There's a smile....
Working on it....
Finished creation! It only took him 45 minutes!
He shared his creation with Luke when he came home from school!
We had fun watching Sam watch "Barney"

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!!!!

We had an interesting first day of school today! Max woke up with a 104 degree temperature (which we found out later in the day is strep throat!) so he had to miss his first day of 3rd grade! AND we found out the great news that CALISSA JOLIE RASMUSSEN was born! Rich's sister, Lynnette, had her 4th baby girl this morning! 8 lbs. 1 oz. 20 inches long - mom and baby are doing well! Welcome to the world, Calissa - we love you! I will post pictures the minute I get them!
AND....
Luke Webb was ready to go to KINDERGARTEN and did GREAT!

Getting ready and getting those teeth pearly white and that breath smellin' good!
Poor Max was a trooper all day :)
I'M READY!!!!
In front of his school!
He found his nametag and sat right down!

Max had a friend, Trent, that he knew from the gym daycare! It was nice to see a familiar face :)
Luke had a very successful first day of Kindergarten! He said his favorite part was recess. He was most excited about the fact that if he brings 30 cents to lunch he can get chocolate milk (we got on that right away, and put the money in his lunch box for tomorrow!). He was excited about the fact that there was no "naptime", but there was "reading time" where you had the choice to read, or to lay down. He said, "I layed down holding a book" - precious! He said they made lots of crafts, and he really liked the new song they learned.....
"Put your hands by your side, by your side (shh shh)
Put your hands by your side, by your side (shh shh)
Put your hands by your side, so we can go outside
Put your hands by your side, by your side (shh shh)"
THUMBS UP! A successful day!
He was EXHAUSTED :)

Max, Sam and I had a nice day together - except that Max felt horrible! We went to the doctor where they discovered he had strep throat! We got an antibiotic, and we should be back to school by Wednesday (we hope!)
After Luke got off to school, we "laid low" in Max and Luke's room, and Sam entertained us....
Here he is doing some of the ABC's.....

TRADITIONS....

We had Luke wear the same shirt Max wore on his first day of Kindergarten to make a fun tradition.....

Here's a picture of Max on his first day of Kindergarten 3 years ago....
And here's Luke today!

MY BOLD TRIP TO BOULDER!!!!

What an amazing trip I had in Boulder, CO!! My chorus got to sing at the Colorado Musicfest - how lucky am I that Aunt Louise, Uncle Mike, Matt and Megan live right there in Louiseville! They definitely rolled out the red carpet for me :)
What a very special time with my awesome chorus friends, and an added bonus get to spend quality time with my very special family :)

My sweet cousin, Megan and I spent the afternoon together when I arrived! I got to see her cute house and meet her roommates, then we walked down Pearl Street and had a yummy lunch at the Cheesecake Factory!
