GIRL'S WEEKEND 2009

It was a HUGE success! We had such a sweet time being together. We did it all! Hiking, "Spa"ing, Laughing, Crying, Eating, Relaxing, Shopping, Reminiscing, Sharing, Caring, and most of all....LOVING. MUSICFEST WAS A SUCCESS!

LET'S CELEBRATE!

What a wonderful time we had at Arizona Musicfest this year! We performed Vaughn Williams Dona Nobis Pacem. It was an exciting, moving, unforgettable performance. It was SO great to have our good friend, Bob Moody back to direct us. We sure do miss him! Joel Rinsema did an EXCELLENT job of preparing us the last few months, and we not only loved working with him, but getting to know him as a friend! These pictures are from our after party at Valerie Voigt's new house. It was definitely time to celebrate!

Puddles Came to Visit...

Luke got to have Puddles (his class Mascot) at our house for 3 days this week. Luke slept with him, watched the Suns, played Guitar Hero, and enjoyed meals with Puddles. It was fun having such a special guest at our house.

LUKE IS SPECIAL STUDENT THIS WEEK!

YIPPEE! Luke is SPECIAL STUDENT this week at school! He gets to be line leader all week, take the attendance down to the office all week, "cook" the snack and serve all the students on Friday, and have a "special lunch" with his teacher at the end of the week! This morning he brought in his "All About Me" poster to show the class, and had all the questioned answered from a questionnaire he was given. At "morning time" Luke got to talk all about himself, and then the students were able to ask him questions about himself.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JENNI!

Today is my sweet sister in law, Jenni's birthday! I'm so glad Mark married Jenni, and that she is a part of our family. She is a great mom to my precious neices, an awesome wife to my big brother, a fun friend to me, and a succesful business woman!


I can't wait to see Jenni is 5 short days! She will be here for our First Annual Girls Weekend!

SPECIAL NIGHT!

Each grandchild gets to have a "special night" at Granna and Grandpa's - and tonight was Max's night! They had a special candlelight dinner of beef, mashed potatoes, corn and bread - not to mention the delicious hors d'oeuvres before! Then they spent time in the hot tub, had s'mores at the firepit, and watched The Bee Movie. Max got to sleep in the big bed in the guest room! They all had a great time - what a special memory.....Thank you, Granna and Grandpa!

We had our own special night with Luke and Sam! After a yummy spaghetti dinner, and Sam went to bed, we played an intense game of JENGA! Luke then was able to sleep in MAX'S BED (the TOP bunk) - very exciting night!

Flashback Fridays!

Look at my chunky Lukie learning how to walk! The reason he looks SO OLD to just be learning how to walk, is because he was! He was 18 months old before he started taking steps. This little guy was content just sitting on the floor with his thumb in his mouth watching his big brother do everything (funny, that still is the case even now sometimes!)

Thankful Thursdays...

Some of the things I'm most thankful for, when it comes right down to it, include:
That my children were all born healthy.
A roof over our heads each night.
The fact that my kids love life and are happy.

A committed and loving husband.
Loving family and friends that bless us all the time.

And that God shows his unconditional love to us every day, and provides for us in every way!

Today is my sweet Aunt Louise's birthday! My Aunt Louise is such a passionate, giving, loving, FUN, and awesome aunt. I had the opportunity to see her and my Uncle Mike at their home in Boulder, CO in July when my chorus performed there. That was such a special visit, as is every time we see each other. I am REALLY looking forward to seeing her and my cousin, Megan in 2 short weeks for our first annual GIRL'S WEEKEND (check out what we are going to be doing at http://www.fungirlsweekend.blogspot.com/!)! I always have such a fun time with my Aunt Louise. She is such a great listener, and always lets me know that I'm important to her....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JOAN!

Today is my precious mother in law's birthday! I am so blessed to not only call her my mother in law, but my FRIEND. She is a wonderful Grandma to Max, Luke and Sam, and such a sweet mommy to Rich. My prayer is that I can be the kind of mother in law to my boys' wives as she is to me. She is so accepting and loving towards me. She has always made me feel as if I was her own, and I am very grateful for that.

MAX'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!

What a fun day of celebration for Max! The day started with a delicious chocolate long john from Daddy (sorry for the sugar high, Mrs. Killingsworth!) before school. The boys had an early release from school, so we headed to Joe's BBQ for his free lunch (take out)! Then we started to get ready for the big night! Max had 5 of his friends over for a sleepover birthday party. The boys had a great time playing games, and not doing much sleeping! It was a super fun night for everyone! Happy Birthday, Buddy....I love you!

Thankful Thursdays...

Here is Max at the NBA Jam Session he went to with Rich last night.

I am so thankful for my sweet boy, Max. My baby boy is going to be 9 years old tomorrow. How in the world did that happen? It seems like yesterday when I was nursing him every 30 minutes just to get him to calm down (I was his pacifier!). Max is such a sweet, FUNNY, kind, smart, witty, cautious, sensitive, charming, and most of all, LOVABLE little boy. Max makes me SMILE every day. One of my favorite sounds is hearing him laugh. He's got his daddy's sense of humor, and I think it's a riot! He has such a LOVE of life, and is always HAPPY. He is very popular among his peers. Everyone wants to be Max's friend, and I think that is really cool. He is extremely sensitive, and really cares about others. What a neat little guy he is.

He is a wonderful big brother to Luke and Sam, and is such a good boy for his mommy and daddy.

I am so thankful God blessed us with Max. What a precious gift he is to us!

Max's Valentine's Cookie Making Party!

Today I got to go to Max's class and help with the Valentine's Party. Last night, Max, Luke and Sam had fun making their Valentines for their parties (Luke's party is on Friday). Today, The kids in Max's class decorated sugar cookies and passed out their Valentines. It was so fun to be with Max, and share in the fun! What a neat group of kiddos and what wonderful teachers Max has!

FUN RUN!

Luke participated in the Bright Beginnings FUN RUN today! Max was still at his friend, Todd's house in the morning (sleepover birthday party). So it was all LUKE! Rich, Sam and I ran with him, and he did GREAT! 2.8 miles! AND....he was the only Kindergartner that participated! We brought Sam's "sit and stand" stroller, and Luke took a few breaks here and there, but for the most part he was determined to run the whole race!

GGP's visit to Arizona!

Rich's Grandpa Pressler (AKA....GGP!) is visiting from Tulsa this weekend. We had a great time today visiting with him at Joan and Richard's home. We had a yummy taco lunch, then the kids got to go swimming. It's so nice to spend time with GGP!

Flashback Fridays!

Look at this "tow-headed" cutie. This is 15 month old, Max. I totally remember this day, and I thought he was such a BIG BOY. I can't believe he's going to be 9 years old a week from today!

Thankful Thursdays...

Today I am thankful for my brother and sister, Mark and Lynn.

We have so much fun together, and have always been close. I am one blessed girl to have an older brother AND an older sister. I've learned so much from both of them, and cherish the times when we can all three be together. It was fun having Mark here last weekend so we could do that! I think it is so neat that all of our kids are so close in age, and that they have already made strong bonds with each other, just like the three of us.

Mark and Lynn were not the "typical" big brother and big sister growing up. Sure, they would get annoyed with their little sister (I'm sure they still do!), lovingly tease their little sister (poor me), and make up LOVELY nicknames for their little sister (Skeeter, Weasel, and Dorito Breath to name a few). But unlike some older siblings, I ALWAYS felt kindness and love from them. And I still do!

So, thank you to my big bro and big sis for being who you are and loving me for who I am!

Today is my sweet brother-in-law, Bryce's birthday! Bryce is not only an awesome husband to Lynn, sweet daddy to his kiddos, nice brother to me and Rich, and fun uncle to my kiddos.....he is a GREAT FRIEND to us all and ALWAYS puts a smile on my face when I am with him!

WHAT A GAME!!!!

We sure had an exciting time watching the Superbowl with the Bragelman's and their friends from church, the Hocknull's. It was SO EXCITING to have the Cardinals there - what an accomplishment! The game was SO GOOD and SO INTENSE! All emotions were felt during it....we were jumping up and down and screaming, and burying our heads and crying!
We loved the pregame and halftime shows. Jennifer Hudson was AMAZING at the National Anthem (that girl can SING), and we really like Bruce Springsteen! The commercials were great! LOVED the 1 second adds from Miller High Life!
