IDOL CHAT...

Here's my Idol comments for the week...
ANOOP – loved it! I love this song…it’s an awesome, upbeat song that he did great with I thought. I agree, he doesn’t really “fit” the Usher type…(sexy, soulful, dancy singer type) – and he said he wants to be an R&B artist…I dunno about that.

MEGAN – I dunno…..all the girl knows how to do is stand and sing and look pretty (which she definitely is) – she has that really unique voice – she picked the wrong song for sure. She needs to sing a Amy Winehouse song…

DANNY - love this boy! He totally felt this piece and it showed. He’s got such a range and is such a great singer. He really gave it his all and I think he could win the whole thing.

ALLISON – what’s up with the hair? It wasn’t as good as last week – she’s a great singer, and what I like about her is that she just gets up there and sings and sings for herself not for anybody else. It’s just in her…

SCOTT – what’s was up with his hair, too?! He’s just not a strong vocally as everyone else. But that doesn’t really seem to matter – he really shows his feelings when he sings and that’s fun to watch.

MATT – that was bold to be down in the middle of the audience…I thought the song was cool, but he just didn’t really fit it – you can tell he really liked singing it, but he does so much more vocally on other songs. He’s more of a soul singer.

LIL – that’s not the song I would’ve thought she would pick…there were some real MOMENTS, but the song was too much…she needs to stick with Mary J Blige songs, simple as that. She really has an unbelievable belting voice, but it didn’t work with this song.

ADAM – that was HOT…..seriously, you can’t even compare him with the others tonight. He is such a performer – he even knows how to compliment the band…he’s quite the charmer. He’s always taking risks, and he’s in a class all his own.

KRIS - he’s a little cutie patootie…he brought down the house tonight – WOW, he made that all his own! He’s so comfortable up there and I just LOVED it. Sweet good old boy from ARKANSAS J

Bottom three – Anoop, Megan and Matt
Going home – Megan

Max's first game!

Max had a great first game of the season last night! He was up to bat three times....first time he struck out swinging, then the next two times he walked....good eye, buddy!
Max team is such a great team - they all work together so well and play hard! I don't know what was cuter, seeing him in this precious uniform or watching him play big boy baseball...
I'll say BOTH!

Here he is chilling out before the game, getting a little last minute TV in...
He's ready!!!
His first at bat....Rich and I get so nervous when's he's up there!
Here's Max using good judgement and not swinging, he got to walk on this one...

Happy Birthday, Lynnette!

Today is my sweet sister in law, Lynnette's birthday! She is a Godly wife (to Adam) and mommy (to my 4 precious neices). She is a sweet sister and friend to Rich and I both! I am so blessed to have her in my life. I know I can always call on Lynnette for a quick ear to listen, a comforting shoulder to lean on, and biblically sound advice when I need it.
Have a wonderful day, Lynnette!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU...

Flashback Fridays...

Max's first time playing basketball...he had just turned 5 years old! Rich was his coach, and it was a precious time to watch him learn the game, and have fun. This took A LOT of patience on Rich's part to teach a bunch of 5 year olds how to play basketball. This picture is of daddy telling him how proud he was for doing his best on the court!

Ba Bye, Sarver...

I was right on with this one! I picked that Michael would be the one going home tonight...we watched it on tape tonight, and would you believe it stopped recording RIGHT when the judges were going to tell us if they were going to "save" him or not?! We quick ran to the computer and GOOGLED "did the judges save Michael Sarver?" and would you believe a ton of other people asked the same exact question (their DVRs had cut off at that moment, too!), and that is where we found our answer!
So....ba bye Sarver...it was fun getting to know you! Best of luck to you, buddy!

IDOL CHAT...

Each week I have " American Idol Chat" with my good friends, Midge, Roger, and Simone. We give our critiques on each contestant, and then we give our prediction on who we think are going to be in the bottom three, and then who we think is going home the next night. Roger makes a spread sheet, and he actually keeps record, and we have a "winner" among the 4 of us...I know we are nerds. I thought I'd share my predictions on my blog this year - this is my e-mail that I just sent out to my "Idol" friends...

OK…here we go!
MATT – HOT…he really “stepped out” when he got up from the piano! He did GREAT vocally and popped into his falsetto so nicely. I like this guy!

CHRIS – Little cutie pie….nothing to really dislike about him. He is right on about everything!

SCOTT – Love the guy, but he just doesn’t have the vocals like everyone else.

MEGAN – What was that?! Yes, she’s different and “corky”…whatever, she was SHOUTING and not on pitch at all. She got too excited and the song took over her. She was all over the place.

ANOOP – That is a HARD SONG….I think he did GREAT! He was really tender and sweet sounding. He was a good “crooner”!

MICHAEL – Exactly what I expected from him…fun to watch and hear – I dunno….too many predictable runs, very Vegas like (like Paula said)

LIL – OK….I wanted so much more from her! Girl can SING, but she was pretty pitchy tonight. She still is the best girl I think and I think she will stick around for awhile…

ADAM – that boy really knows how to sing – he is a wonderful actor and can portray whatever he needs to do. Excellent job! You can tell he’s done this before…

DANNY – He is FUN to watch and listen to. He feels it and knows he’s good. Always good and I’m a huge fan!

ALLISON – OK…I need to see a birth certificate on this chick! You can’t teach soul like that…girl has GOT IT.

BTW…….Smokey Robinson is like Dick Clark….he’s not aging….what’s up with that?

OK…bottom 3 – Megan, Michael and Scott.
Going home – Michael

Gecky Jr. is guest of honor!

Gecky Jr. ("GJ") was the special visitor in Max's class today! This week is PET WEEK... Max was SO PROUD to show off his special pet. After talking about his pet, and why he likes him so much. He explained how he takes care of him, and then answered questions that his classmates asked. Then everyone had a chance to come up and look at him. It was precious to share this special day with Max!
Here's Max and "GJ"

He's talking about all the cool things about him...

And how he takes care of him...

He then aswered questions from his classmates...

Then each group was able to come up and look at GJ...

Quality time with our cousins...

Bryce and Lynn are on a much needed vacation in LAS VEGAS and we get to spend time with Daniel, Julia, Kyle and David! We had such an awesome weekend with them...
We started off the weekend with a carnival that the kids made up (they loved seeing the "Webmussen Carnival" that they had to make one of their own!) The kids had so much fun being together and having a SLEEPOVER on Saturday night! Granna made the BEST meals for all of us each day (thanks, Granna!), and we really had fun hanging out all together. What a wonderful blessing to have my precious nephews and niece right here. What sweet, special memories our kids are making together!

GO CUBS!!!!

Max had his first scrimmage game of the baseball season today! And he did GREAT! This is his first year of "kid pitch" baseball. What a game it was! On his first at bat, he had a nice solid hit to first base, and knocked in a run for the team. On his second at bat, he smoked one super hard up the middle with the bases loaded...he got a triple and knocked in three guys! It was SO awesome! We won the game with a score of 18-14! YEAH CUBBIES!!!! It's going to be a great season!

What a guy....

I was running on the treadmill at the gym, and my phone started ringing....
It was my dad, and he simply said, "Hey, I'm in need of a haircut, and I heard you mention that Sam was in need of one, too...could I take him with me and we could both get one?"
I didn't even hesitate!
Not many Grandpas would take a 2 year old to a barber shop without mommy and get a haircut. But, my dad doesn't even hesitate about it! He is SO GOOD with Sam. They are such good buddies...
So here they are at a good ole fashioned barber shop after their haircuts. My dad asked to bring the camera so he could document the event!

Flashback Fridays!

This is sweet Samuel 2 years ago today. After a walk around the block in the back pack he fell asleep and stayed like this for awhile...

Thankful Thursdays...

I am so thankful for my PRECIOUS nieces...Annika, Kirsten, Lesia and Calissa Rasmussen! We have been having a blast with them the last two days while their mommy and daddy have had a much needed get away date! We went swimming at Granna and Grandpa's last night, had a fun sleepover (complete with ice cream and American Idol), and have had fun all day playing here and at the park and just hanging out. The girls are so good, fun, kind, polite, and GIRLIE...which is fun to have with all the testoterone I have to deal with on a daily basis!

The kids are SO CREATIVE....they play so well together, and created a whole entire CARNIVAL this morning! They had games, rides and tickets to be redeemed at the prize table. It was a HOOT I tell ya! Now sit back and enjoy "The Webmussen Carnival"

Thankful Thursdays...

Today I am thankful for ICE CREAM. You scream, I scream, we ALL scream for ICE CREAM!
Here at the Webb house, when one mentions the word ice cream, JOY exudes from every corner of the house. We all LOVE it, and want it all the time! The boys are on Spring Break this week and the next - so, why not have some ice cream at 1:00 in the afternoon? I let them put whatever toppings they wanted to - they had sprinkles, chocolate sauce, chocolate chips, and chocolate covered cherries. I then released them into the backyard to complete the sugar rush I had created! I went to an ice cream website, and learned about my Ice Cream Flavorology.
Do you think the expert got it right for me???

"Double Chocolate Chunk...If you love Double Chocolate Chunk, you tend to be lively, creative and dramatic. Always the life of the party, you charm everyone you meet with your enthusiasm and sense of style. You enjoy being in the spotlight and prefer to be in the company of friends rather than left alone to reflect on life. You prefer passion and excitement in your romantic relationships, and require a lot of attention from your mate."

So, take some time today, and enjoy a delicious bowl of ice cream.

FUN afternoon with Justin Roberts!

We had a fun afternoon seeing Justin Roberts and the Not Ready for Naptime Players! They performed at Church of the Beatitudes and they were GREAT! They sound a lot like "Ralph's World". The boys had a GREAT time dancing and singing (mommy and daddy did, too!)
Sam was mesmerized!
My friend, Mike and his family were there!

Kutless Concert

After Papa's party, Max and I had the opportunity to go see Kutless, a Christian Rock Band with the Ghali family (thank you, Ghali's!). There were 3 different bands there, and Max really liked it. There was one band called "Disciple" that was heavy metal, long haired, bang your head rock band - Max really thought this was cool. He leaned over to me and said, "If the race car driver thing doesn't work out, I want to do that....but without the long hair." And he pointed to the lead guitarist that was just rockin' out on stage! He then proceeded to fall asleep during the LOUDEST part of the concert, and remained asleep the rest of the concert. Precious boy.
