Little Tess Verdugo had her surgery today to remove the ovarian tumor the doctor found at a well check up last week. The surgery was a success, and she is resting comfortably at the hospital tonight with Mommy Laurie.
The surgeon discovered that the tumor was wrapped around her ovary 2 times – the pictures were amazing. She has had this tumor growing since she was conceived. They removed the tumor, and ovary, AND her appendix (why not?!) – the doctor is very confident that the tumor is a “teratoma tumor” – which is common in children, and if so, will be benign – we will know for sure in a couple of days.
She did great, and I got to see her right after in the recovery room. She was nuzzled into mommy’s bosom so groggy, but yet so precious. She should be able to come home tomorrow depending on how she feels.
