Tea for Felicity...

We enjoyed a wonderful night at the Rasmussen Outdoor Theatre! Lynnette and the girls, along with another home school family put on the production "Tea for Felicity". Their good friends, Heather (mom), Hannah, and Abby worked for 3 months on the play. All the girls did WONDERFUL! They definitely have the acting bug! Max said many times after the show, "Mom, that was REALLY good....I mean, REALLY good." I totally agree!

Gallery Night and Talent Show

Luke and I had a nice date at the Gallery Night and Talent Show at his school. Max had a baseball game, so Daddy and Sam went to that, and Luke and I got to enjoy a special night together! We enjoyed all the art work that the boys' FABULOUS art teacher, Mrs. Crocker displayed SO beautifully! Then there was a great talent show that we enjoyed watching!

Our Fabulous Firefly!

Tonight was Luke's performance of the BUGZ Play at his school. It was PRECIOUS...
He was a cute Firefly, and did so GREAT! I got to watch the dress rehearsal earlier today, and then got to see it tonight with all of his fans (Granna, Grandpa, Papa, Grandma, Aunt Lynn, Julia, David, Kyle, Max, Sam and Daddy). Luke did so great with all of the songs, the dancing, and reciting his lines (and mouthing everyone else's lines). What a precious memory I will hold in my heart! He had such a proud look on his face the whole time...

Matt left American Idol tonight....I was surprised! But, somebody's got to go. He will be JUST FINE, and has a wonderful career ahead of him FOR SURE. I will be first in line to get his first album for sure!

Idol Chat...

OK…….first of all……..I LOVE JAIME FOXX. I think he is so talented and just really enjoy him! He can do it ALL….act, dance, be funny, and SING.

Kris – Cutie pie did AWESOME tonight. He showed everyone, yet again, that he can do any genre really well. I’m scared that he may get overlooked though…

Allison – I thought it was good that she doesn’t turn away from her rocker side even when she’s singing something so innocent. Although, I wish she would’ve sang it a little more innocently (did that make any sense?)

Matt – I liked how he changed his voice a little tonight, and it seemed a lot stronger. Jaime Foxx was bringing out a lot in a lot of people tonight! This is totally Matt’s thing.

Danny – Best one of the night by far! I love how he brought down the house in the end! He’s in it to win it!

Adam – I agree that he was a bit too much DRAMA tonight – BUT he is definitely in it to win it also and he is quite the performer. I was hoping he wouldn’t do that high stuff for just once, and he did A LOT of it tonight…he’s still pretty brilliant I must say.

inCREDIBLE CARMINA!!!!

What a WONDERFUL run of concerts! We performed Carmina Burana this weekend (2 shows at Symphony Hall, and one in Prescott). We had so much fun the whole weekend. It's such a powerful piece, and a real crowd pleaser for sure!
Our trip to Prescott on Sunday turned out to be an interesting one....our 2 hour bus drive home turned into a 5 hour one, because our bus broke down! We definitely made the best of it and had a BLAST. It ended up being a FUN ending to a FUN weekend.

Everyone showed up to watch Max and his team WIN their game today!
Granna, Grandpa, Papa, Grandma, all the Rasmussen Family, and of course his biggest fans, Mommy, Luke and Sam were there to cheer the Cubs on to victory! Max had an awesome play......he fielded a grounder, and got the player out at first. So fun to watch him play!

So long, Anoop and Lil!

My predictions were correct again this week! Anoop and Lil are gone... I was really starting to like Anoop! He was really improving his appearance and really was singing some AWESOME ballads. Lil was going downhill fast, and it was her time to go. I think both will do great in the business and I can't wait to see what's next for them!

IDOL CHAT...

LIL – Girl definitely WORKED the outfit….sadly that’s about the only thing she worked. She was all over the place vocally – bless her heart. I think she impressed all of us during the try-outs and that’s it. I think she’s done.

KRIS – That was GREAT. He really took a chance and it totally worked. That is his total kind of music and he is comfortable in what he’s doing and that’s what is making him so successful!

DANNY – That was SO good. He was having so much fun and that guy can SING. I totally agree with Paula…just when you think he could not even reach the next note, he NAILS it. He has such a unique, cool voice. I hope he stays in until the finals.

ALLISON – I thought that was a really cool arrangement! I thought it totally fit her and she did great. She’s doing so great and I think she’ll be around for a few more weeks.

ADAM – HOW DOES HE DO THAT? He is brilliant – you don’t know that is going to come out of him! Paula needs to get a grip, calm down sweetie. He does bug me, but boy can he SING.

MATT – I love this guy because he reminds of my boy Justin Timberlake. He can SING – I love when he pops into falsetto and he did the runs so much better tonight! I thought he did GREAT and saved himself for another week.

ANOOP – I liked that. I really like his voice. His voice is so smooth and always right on. He really does well on the ballads. He looked REALLY good tonight, and the facial hair really grew on me!

I gave it a TRI!

What an AWESOME experience! I competed in the Tri for the Cure today. It was so great. I was part of a team with friends from the boys' school - we were Team S.O.S. (Supporting our Shannon)! We competed with and for our dear friend, Shannon Brodnick who was just diagnosed with breast cancer. It was such an inspiring, fun, exhilirating time! I loved having Rich, the boys, mom, dad, and my friends Simone and Jimmy there to cheer me on - that was so helpful! It was an honor to do this with Shannon and the rest of the girls. In the awesome words of Shannon....."today we celebrated our strength, good health, and friendship." I couldn't have said it any better!

Lynn's BABY GIRL shower...

I had a very special afternoon celebrating with my dear friend, Lynn Cornwell! I helped host a shower for her today. She is expecting her first GIRL! She has 2 boys that are the same ages as Max and Luke and has always REALLY wanted a girl......and it's happening! She is SO excited and we are all, too! It was so much fun to watch her open all the GIRLIE presents. What a sweet, special celebration for my sweet, special friend, Lynn!

My sweet nephew, Daniel was elected PRESIDENT of his school today! We are so proud of him! WAY TO GO!

Flashback Friday!

Here's mommy and 2 of her favorite boys...this is Spring 2006! I was 4 months pregnant with Sam and not feeling well at all, but trying to look "normal"...

The judges decided to SAVE Matt tonight! I really thought Lil was going home, but America chose Matt - I'm glad the judges saved him. BUT, I don't like that 2 contestants have to go home next week....

Idol Chat...

Allison – she was doing something weird with her voice tonight….but she really delivered the song well…I still can’t believe she’s only 16…..she has so much “depth” to her!

Anoop – he does ballads SO WELL – he was perfect vocally tonight and I think this was one of his best performances.

Adam – he is a ROCK STAR…he is in a class all himself…you really can’t compare him with the other contestants!

Kris – I think this was his best performance to date…that was a cool song and I think he sang it awesome. He popped into his falsetto perfectly!

Matt – I like him at the piano…however I agree with the judges, he did too many runs, and didn’t do them perfect enough.

Danny – that is such a HARD song, and I think he sang it so well….I like how he just sang it straight, and you could tell he was really feeling what he was singing. I like the “harshness” of his voice.

Lil – she’s just not getting it right…I agree with the judges. She keeps picking the wrong songs! She should’ve sung a Whitney Houston song!
I wanted her to really do it right tonight…and she didn’t.

We had a wonderful day of CELEBRATION... We started the day with an Easter Egg Hunt here at the house followed by a yummy breakfast. We then headed to church to celebrate Christ's RESURRECTION!!!! He is RISEN!

Fun Good Friday...

Let's go to the movie.....

We saw "Monsters vs. Aliens" today with the Bragelman's and Granna. It was a cool, fun movie and it was fun to all be together!

We loved the movie!!!
After our movie excursion, we went back to the Bragelman's for our yearly tradition of coloring eggs! The kids made some beautiful egg creations and really had a good time doing it. They didn't even make THAT big of a mess, which was a good thing since we headed to church right after for an awesome Good Friday service....
